In January 2008, the first MSGS newsletter was published. MSGS members gathered at the 1st Annual North Mississippi Gourd Festival at Adkins Farms in Booneville, MS on May 10, 2008. By our first anniversary in September 2008, the MSGS had become the Psi Chapter of the American Gourd Society.

The MSGS is a growing young organization of people who love gourds and everything about them. We publish a newsletter twice a year for members only, maintain a website and Facebook page, and offer gourders help in any way we can.
